Oh bloody hell!! I missed a screening of Mystic Ball in Bangkok at their International Film Festival, I blame this on Rama IX, the King of Thailand...who banned YouTube in his country. If I could have YouTubed in Bangkok, I could've sent Bing the video of Takraw when I was there, and perhaps learned about Chinlone when I still had the chance to see the film! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Brilliant post above, btw, Bing. You hit the plot and cast right on the nose...maybe we should write a script together??

oh shiz! nice video. i love the music toooo. you know i bet these burmese would make amazing soccer players. they should totally make a real life action movie where some big shot agent discovers the next pele in some burmese village and brings that person to the EPL where he dazzles the crowd but then loses his soul and his skills to western materialism and urban deceit only to be brought back to his senses and his true values by the village girl who always loved him and walked all the way from burma to london in order to save him, all the meanwhile making his new celebrity paris-look-alike wife look like the mean, superficial, and dumb person she really is, leading to a very happy and satisfying ending where the burmese soccer player dazzles the world once again, bringing hope to generations of burmese chinloners and inspiring a master/apprentice relationship between he and the greatest professional soccer players around the world. this movie would of course star tony jaa as the burmese soccer player, winona ryder as his village love, tadanobu asano as the introspective crazy yakuza, tony leung as the epl agent, shrek as wayne rooney, benicio del toro as cristiano ronaldo, a piece of poo as the paris look a like, anna faris as the love that was never to be, jackie chan as the cop, utada hikaru as the halftime show, stephen colbert as the chinlone master, jay leno as the chinlone master's sushi chef, and beat takeshi as the blind samarai who can cut down god with his blade, and sonny chiba as the sword maker.
