Hikaru for you

Utada Hikaru – Passion

My blog is quickly turning into a collection of my favorite songs and videos. Today i’ve posted 4 of my favorite Utada Hikaru songs. In Asia, pop stars meteorically (sorry G) rise and evaporatively disappear literally within weeks as new soap operas and tv shows bring to fame the newest face. Anyone on t.v. gets a chance to rehash dance moves by J.T. on the Asian stage. Their songs are manufactured, simple, and completely boring. However, talent is still talent and every now and then a talented musician rises above this concocted crap. Utada is one of these people and is one of my favorite singer/songwriters of all time. She is no doubt my most favorite singer who sings in a language I don’t undersand (definitely beats out Enrique singing in English). She is certainly cute, but I didn’t know that until these videos. I’ve posted four of her top songs here. This one is Passion which some of yall might recognize as “Sanctuary.”

  1. It would have been great if you had said “meteorically rise and fall.” I do like “evaporatively,” though—very evocative.
I think you just thought of meteors because of the part of the video where Utada’s cartoon self is flying through either outer space or pond water.
